Large Fire in MN Destroys Two Apartments, Popular Business

Minneapolis, MN – Firefighters responded to a large fire at the corner of 26th and Cedar early Tuesday morning according to FOX 9 News . The structure contained Cedar Food & Grill, a popular local restaurant, and two apartments. Two families were displaced by the fire and both the business and residence were destroyed.

Fire crews were at the scene through Tuesday morning as fire was trapped between each levels of the 100-year-old structure. Firefighters requested excavation equipment to assist in their efforts to attack the fire within the building. Several city blocks surrounding the scene remained closed throughout the morning. One of the displaced families will receive aid from theRed Cross; the second has accepted assistance from friends.

There are no reports of injuries.
