Firefighters are expecting to take delivery of 20 cases of free beer as a thank you to one of their own who put out a recent truck fire with cans of Coors, reports The Houston Chronicle.
Capt. Craig Moreau extinguished an 18-wheeler tire fire on Jan. 6 on Texas 71, near Austin.
Moreau said the fire was in danger of spreading to the entire truck and the tiny extinguisher from the cab was out of juice.
“I asked him what was in the truck and he said, ‘It’s beer, it’s all beer,”‘ Moreau said.
“We started shaking and spraying the beer all over the place,” he said. The fire was out in minutes.
Capt. Moreau has been overwhelmed with media requests since the incident, appearing on national radio and TV shows to tell his story.
