Firefighters in Fresno needed additional personnel to battle two residential fires in southeast Fresno that started during the heat Monday afternoon, reports Fresno Bee (http://bit.ly/1J3rxcs)
Firefighters first battled a fire that started shortly after 3 p.m. at 5092 E. White Ave.
Twenty nine firefighters were called in because the heat took a toll on firefighters, said Fresno fire Capt. Paul Garnier. The fire started in the garage area before spreading to the attic and roof, Garnier said. It was contained before it spread to other structures.
Seven children and four adults are displaced, but the cause of the fire is not known, Garnier said.
A second fire started around 4:30 p.m. at 847 S. 8th St.

Twenty firefighters fought the fire in the heat and there were no injuries.
