A 58-year-old resident died after jumping from an apartment fire Monday in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn, New York.
TheNew York Postreported that the victim, his clothes ablaze, leaped from the three-storystructureonto bedding that other civilians set up for jumpers.
Two other residents were seriously hurt, while three more suffered minor injuries, the report said.
ThePosthighlighted the role of one 16-year-old who entered the burning building to help rescue residents.
NY1 reported theFire Department of New Yorkofficials said the fire was accidental.
