A firefighter suffered a shoulder injury in a two-alarm apartment fire that started late Saturday morning in San Jose, reports abc7news.
Crews responded to a report of smoke coming from a unit at a large apartment complex in the 3100 block of Kimber Court at about 11:40 a.m., San Jose fire Capt. Peter Caponio said.
The first crew arrived to find smoke and flames coming from the two-story unit, Caponio said.
A second alarm was called as a precaution and the fire was knocked down about 30 minutes later, he said.
A firefighter suffered a shoulder injury from hose line operations and was transported to a hospital, Caponio said.

It appears the residents were cooking in the kitchen where the fire started, got out of control and spread to the rest of the unit, according to Caponio.
Smoke alarms alerted the two residents of the fire and they were able to evacuate, the fire captain said.
