Firefighters battled a multi-alarm blaze Monday afternoon on Manning Avenue in Jersey City.

Photos from the scene showed one house destroyed while two nearby structures also appeared to have some fire damage. Firefighters used multiple hose lines to douse the flames.

A city spokesperson did not immediately release information about the blaze. It was unclear if anyone was hurt.

Volunteers from the Red Cross New Jersey chapter helped 15 people from six families, who were impacted by the fire, according to the organization. The Red Cross provided temporary lodging, food and clothing.
