Detroit (MI) Fires Down 44 Percent Over Halloween Weekend

There was a significant decline in the number of fires in Detroit, Michigan, over the Halloween weekend this year.

Fires were down approximately 44 percent from last year, according to a report in theDetroit Free Press(http://on.freep.com/uRHuwB).

在周六和周一,re were 94 fires reported across the city, a reduction from the 169 in the three-day period in 2010.

This lead-up to Halloween used to be referred to as Devil’s Night, although it is now called Angels’ Night in honor of the numerous firefighters, police, and other volunteers whose show of massive force attempts to curb the number of arsons and other crimes that usually occur in this time period.
