Alex Castro was a pump operator for the Brownsville Fire Department for 14 years, reports valleycentral.com.

Right now, it is not known what caused Castro to collapse and die. An autopsy is underway to find out just that in hopes it will bring closure to the family of this 14 year veteran.
“We’re just waiting on that report to come in and see what the official causes of his death were. He did die here at the station,” said Perez.
Tonight Castro’s unexpected death remains a shock to his colleagues who say he was a great, and cheerful individual.
“He was one of those individuals who helped us in our EMS fire merger. He was able to make the transition to help us train more firefighters. He will be sorely missed.”
