Indianapolis, IN – First Bankers Corporation announces its 10th anniversary of providing scholarships to fire fighters and their dependents through its Giving Back to those who Give(tm) program.
First Bankers will award ten $500 scholarships – five to firefighters and five to dependents of fire fighters. The scholarship application period is open from April 1, 2006 to August 31, 2006. The scholarships can be used for any post-secondary education and are not required to be used for emergency-related education. Applications are available for download athttp://www.firstbankers.net.

I know that each person who gives to their community wants to have a chance at furthering their knowledge”, said John Hill, President of First Bankers. “This is a small step we can take to say thank you and help with that dream.”

Firefighters or emergency medical personnel or the children or dependents of firefighters or emergency medical personnel may apply for these scholarships. The scholarships are paid directly to the winner for expenses of their choosing. Applicants must write a 50-word essay on why they are deserving of the scholarship.
