Fire Prevention and Safety: SEYMOUR (TN) VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT INVESTS IN LOCAL KIDS' SUMMER SAFETY

The Seymour (TN)VolunteerFire Department, in cooperation with East Tennessee Children’s Hospital, conducted apublicoutreach with Sevier county’s Seymour Intermediate School.

The focus of the class was to educate students on the dangers of head injuries. This is especially important as summer break begins and children have more time to spend outdoors.

Sevmour Fire’s education team custom fit thesafetyhelmets to each childs needs. The helmets, at a cost of $20.00 each, were made possible by the Kohl’s Care Foundation. East Tennessee Children’s Hospital and the Kohl’s Foundation work to provide safety education and supplies all throughout East Tennessee.

The Seymour Fire Department is an all volunteer organization covering 102 square miles in three counties with a total of six stations. They can be found on FaceBook as “Seymour Volunteer Fire Department”, on Twitter @seymourvfd or atwww.seymourvfd.com
