>> RONALD J. SIARNICKI received the International Fire Service Training Association's 2012 Everett E. Hudiburg award. Siarnicki is the executive director of the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF). He began his career as a volunteer firefighter in Monessen, Pennsylvania. He joined the Prince George's County (MD) Fire/EMS Department (PGFD) in 1978 and progressed through the ranks to chief of the department. In 2001, Siarnicki retired from PGFD and was appointed executive director of the NFFF, where he manages its daily operations. Under his direction, the NFFF developed the Everyone Goes Home® Program, designed to reduce the number of firefighter line-of-duty deaths that occur each year in the United States.
>> Maryland State Fire Marshal WILLIAM BARNARD received the 2012 Bringing Safety Home Award from Home Fire Sprinkler Coalition (HFSC) and the National Fire Protection Association's (NFPA's) Fire Sprinkler Initiative.
