A group of off-dutyfirefightersaided a man who had been attacked by a bison on Catalina Island in California, according to a news report.
WKRN-TV talked to Brentwood (TN) firefighter Jay Williams, who helped the 43-year-old victim. His friends, three other firefighters from Torrance, California, also helped provide aid. The group was hiking last Wednesday when they came across the victim, who had been doing field work for a new trail system when he was apparently charged by the animal, the report said.
“He looked like he was out of the walking dead,” Williams told reporters.
The firefighters went to work immediately, calling 911 and applying pressure to the victim’s wounds until he could be airlifted from the site. The victim is expected to make a full recovery.
The firefighters credited theirtraining for their response in theincident.
