FDNY Firefighters Challenged by Hoarding Conditions at Queens House Fire

Fire Department of New York (FDNY) companies in the borough of Queens battled a stubborn two-alarm fire in a private dwelling on the morning of Saturday, October 24.

The house on 111th Avenue near 169th Street in the borough’s Jamaica section presented “Collyer’s Mansion” conditions which madefirefighters‘ initial attack more challenging.

FDNY companies had to clear “tons” of debris from inside the home in order to bring the blaze under control.

There were no reported injuries at the scene.
