On Monday, Detroit 6th battalion companies were dispatch to E Canfield & Beniteau for a reported occupied apartment on fire.

Squad 6 arrived on the scene and reported a working fire and requested two additional companies for additional personnel. Engine 41 arrived on the scene and stretched on the occupied apartment building. Chief 6 arrived and assumed incident command and requested a second truck.
Firefightersperformed in interior attack on the building. With fire heavy fire conditions running the attic, Chief 6 requested a second alarm. Companies operated for several hours to bring the fire under control. Water tower operations were eventually used, with relief companies responding to the scene through the night and morning.
