Pennsylvania Assistant Chief Dies from Injuries

ORRTANNA, Pennsylvania – A Pennsylvania assistant chief has died from injuries sustained after being ejected from his fire engine while responding to a call on August 2.

TheEvening Sunreports that Buchanan Valley Volunteer Fire Department Assistant Chief Walter Wagman died Tuesday after having suffered severe injuries.

According to anearlier press releasefrom the fire department, Assistant Chief Wagman was part of the crew of Rescue Engine 27 responding to an accident on Carlisle Pike when for unknown reasons he was ejected from the apparatus.

Wagman was treated by personnel on the scene and later flown to a trauma center in York.

On Tuesdayon the department’s websiteit was announced that Assistant Chief Wagman had died from his injuries. The department says additional details will follow.
