Firefighter Injured in Four-Alarm Philadelphia Warehouse Fire

A firefighter was hospitalized after falling from a fire truck during operations at a four-alarm fire at a vacant warehouse in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

ThePhiladelphia Inquirerreports (http://bit.ly/OuThp2) that the firefighter was taken to Hahnemann University Hospital, where he was reported in stable condition.

The fire broke out in the 75-feet x 75-feet, four-story building around 2:30 a.m. It escalated to four alarms within an hour as fire department commanders called in more help. They battled the flames by pouring water from ladder and snorkel trucks over the El tracks and Girard Avenue Station. The incident commander declared the fire under control at 4:15 a.m. Its cause is under investigation.
