The Fire Department Safety Officer Association (FDSOA) announced Janine Driver, bestselling author ofYou Can’t Lie to Meand former lie detection expert for the FBI, CIA, and Scotland Yard, will be the keynote speaker for the 2019 Apparatus Maintenance & Specification Symposium and the 2019 Safety Forum. This event will be held January 20-24 in Orlando, Florida.
Driver certainly can relate to the fire service as the daughter of Charlie Driver, recently retired EVT for Brookline, Massachusetts. Last year, she also presented to the Fire Emergency Manufacturers and Services Association and Fire Apparatus Manufacturers Association’s annual meetings and got rave reviews.
“If you’re a fleet supervisor or EVT and dealing with apparatus manufacturers or vendors on bids or a safety officer trying to convince your fire chief to invest in better safety gear or with firefighters to wear their turn out gear or SCBAs, listen, you say more than you think,” said Driver. “Imagine if you knew in your life what you were saying without saying a word!”
