An explosion and fire at a plant in Sherbrooke, Quebec, has hospitalized 17 people, five with severe burns, reports CTV News.
The explosion, at a Neptune Technologies & Bioressources facility, caused the fire, produced toxic smoke.
“It’s a major fire. There are a number of injuries,” Rene Dubreuil of the Sherbrooke police said.
It is not clear if the injuries were life threatening, but according to Dubreuil those hospitalized were transported by ambulance.
All 65 workers were accounted for after a head count.
