The Los Angeles County (CA) Fire Department received four KME tractor drawn quints. Battalion Chief Jon O'Brien says the quints are used as a standalone resource and as a second company at multicompany stations. At these stations, the quint assumes a pumper's duties if the engine is absent. The tractordrawn aerials are found to be the most versatile in navigating narrow, congested roads in which the tight turning radius is well suited.
