WELLS

Two of the South Mountain Wells at Lebanon, pa., are proving satisfactory. One is flowing a good stream and all the while the Engel spring, which is near by, is furnishing its usual quantity. The 6-inch well at the head waters of No. 3 dam discharges a large body of water, from 50,000 to 100,000 gallons per day. The water coming from these two wells is altogether additional to that which formerly flowed into the dams from the streams and simply proves, what has often been said, that there is an abundance of water to be had at the present supply. The dams arc filling tip rapidly. No. 1 tlam is full within three feet. No. 2 within three feet an 1 No. 3 within six feet. The latter is filling up at the rate of six inches a day and No, 2 faster, at the same time that the city is being supplied.

The village well forthe waterworks system of Hokah, M inn, has been completed. It is 545 feet deep, and the best of water is obtained. Figuring on a 19-foot flow, with force to spare, three barrels of water can easily be furnished per minute. By means of a hydraulic ram the water will be carried to a height above the village, and a large reservoir tilled from whence the village will be supplied through mains.
