WATER RATES

WATER RATES

The Birmingham Water Works Company, of Birmingham, Ala., has increased its rate as per contract adopted February 24th, 1915. The increase is an advance of 1 cent per thousand gallons to the city of Birmingham.

Users of city water in Reading, Pa., who pay by flat or fixture rates, and have not paid their current bills for six months service, face a penalty of 5 per cent. The users of water by meter rate have been redistricted, in three sections. One district is billed every month, so that all meter users will get a bill once in three months. After the system is regularly in use each meter bill will be for three months’ service. The time given to pay is one month and fourteen days on such bills.
