WATER RATES

Chief Carleton E. Davis, of the Bureau of Water, of Philadelphia, Pa., is advocating a charge of 12 cents per 1,000 gallons for all water less than 500,000 gallons; 8 cents per 1,000 gallons for the next 500,000 gallons, and 4 cents per 1,000 gallons for all above 1,000,000 gallons.

In accordance with a communication received by the Town Commissioners of Irvington, N. from Carroll P. Bassett, president of the Commonwealth Water & Light Company of Summit, of which the Clinton Water Company of Irvington is a subsidiary, the private consumers in Irvington will pay ten per cent, less for their water than formerly. The new rates will be 27 cents per 1,000 gallons for meter service instead of thirty cents as before. The minimum rate for the quarter will be $1.80 instead of $2.
