Virginia Firemen Hold Convention
Frank Cushman, Chief of the Federal Trade and Industrial Education Service, was one of the speakers at the fortysixth annual convention of the Virginia State Firemen’s Association held in Alexandria, August 10-12. A tournament was held in connection with the convention.
The visitors were welcomed by Mayor Edmund F. Ticer, who spoke of the connection of George Washington with the fire service and his presentation of a hand operated pumper to a local fire company in 1774.
