Two-Platoon Adopted in Wheeling
The fire department of Wheeling, W. Va., is to be organized under the two-platoon system to take effect July 1, 1924, if the present plans are carried out. The city council adopted on September 18, a measure which provided for
the installation of the system. However, it failed to make provision for the employment of six firemen and an assistant chief necessary for the inauguration of the system at once and. therefore, it will not go into effect until next July.
