To Prevent Christmas Fires
The National Fire Protection Association and fire marshals in many states and fire prevention bureaus have issued bulletins calling attention to the danger of Christmas tree fires, and the New York Board of Fire Underwriters has issued notice that Christmas and other inflammable materials on insured property constitute an additional hazard not contemplated in the insurance policies, this notice applying particularly to mercantile houses, churches and public buildings. The warnings issued for safety at Christmas time are a fire prevention step very similar to the “Safe and Sane” Fourth of July campaign.
