三个被酒精爆炸
Three men were burned to death and one other died two days later following an explosion of alcohol fumes in the dehydrating room at the plant of Richards & Company, manufacturing chemists, on Ludlow street, Stamford, Conn. Static electricity is given as the cause of the explosion that took a toll of four lives and did fire damage to the factory buildings amounting to $35,000.
The entire Stamford fire department under the command of Chief Victor H. Veit was called into service by a second alarm from the company’s private box. Two of the bodies of the workmen were found among the mass of brick in the dehydrating room and the third in an adjoining building used for storage purposes. The latter building collapsed.
