The H. Mueller Manufacturing Company, of Decatur, Ill., has, in addition to the various tapping machines it manufactures, added the Improved Columbia, as illustrated herewith. It is somewhat lighter in weight and cheaper in price than the regular Mueller tapping machine; but it is claimed that it will work equally as well as, if not better than many of the so-called cheap machines on the market. This machine retains many of the practical points of the Mueller machine, chief of which is the Mueller valve, which works much better than the sliding valve formerly used on the Columbia. The manufacturers state that a tap can be made with this machine on the largest or smallest mains against any existing pressure with perfect ease,and no water will be lost during the entire operation of making the tap. The machine is strong in every part and is made of the very best material that money can buy. They offer to send their machines to responsible parties anywhere in the United States, with the guarantee that it will give satisfaction, and, if found unsatisfactory or if they do not do all they claim for them, the machines can be returned, and the company will pay the freight both ways.
