The Tampa Fire Department.
Chief A. J. Harris, through exact knowledge of the conditions in Tampa, and because of a record of increasing ability and that personal quality which makes the fighting of fire a delight and recreation to him as well as an everyday occupation, continues at the head of the fire department of Florida’s second city after twenty years of service.
One at all conversant with the tenor of the local press of Tampa must come by the notion that Chief Harris is held in high regard by the people whose safety and interests he so carefully guards. Mention of his deeds, both as an executive and as a daring fireman, are frequent in the Tampa papers. Gaining the admiration and consequent ’ enthusiastic support of the people of Tampa appears to be an effective part of Chief Harris’ policy.
