大RAPIDS WATER SUPPLY
Grand Rapids, Mich., a manufacturing and distributing centre, with an estimated population of 131,000, owns and operates the water works which supply all built up territory in the city and a few customers outside the city. The works which were originally built in 1874 were enlarged in 1893 and in 1910. In addition to the municipal works, the Grand Rapids Hydraulic Company supplies water to a small area. A report by the First Prevention Committee of the National Board of Fire Underwriters gives the following information:
