Southeastern Chiefs Honor J. H. Monroe
Chief J. H. Monroe of Savannah, Ga., was elected President of the Southeastern Section of the International Association of Fire Chiefs at a convention held in Athens, Ga., June 23 and 24. Over one hundred members were present.
The convention was formally opened by Mayor A. G. Dudley of Athens and C. D. Terrell, Secretary of the Chamber of Commerce. In the afternoon, following a concert by the Atlanta Fire Department Band, the session opened with an address by President Sherwood Brockwell in which he reviewed the work of the association. In the evening a barbecue was held at the Athens Country Club.
