September Fire Losses

September Fire Losses

Notes from the Field

The losses by fire in the United States and Canada during the month of September, as compiled from the daily record of The Journal of Commerce reached a total of $25,630,050, or nearly 50 per cent greater than the August figures. The September losses this year are somewhat less than charged against the same month last year but are materially above the normal average for the season of the year. Evidences have been multiplying of the development of moral hazard in certain lines in various sections of the country.
