The extensive use of “Quick us-wink” couplings on fire hose bus created so great a demand for playpipes made specially for use on hose having “Quick-aswink” couplings that the W. Y. Clark company, of Salem, Ohio—which is the only manufacturer of such coupling—has been compelled to begin making a variety of styles of playpipes having "Quick-as-wink” butts.
