The following was among the questions asked at the extension courses of the New Vork Fire College, with answers by fire department engineers:
Question: You are the officer in command of an engine company responding to an automatic alarm at night; your engine breaks down on its way to the fire. On your arrival you nnd considerable fire on the sixth floor of a 7-story factory building. State fully what action you would take covering all matters since you left quarters in answer to the alarm, and also what action you would take upon your arrival at the building on fire.
