PUMPING ENGINES
At Albany, N. Y., the new boilers for the water works have been placed upon their foundations and the work of building the brick work around them is well under way. The foundation for the other two have been completed and they will be placed in their positions next week. It is the intention of the superintendent to have, if possible, the boilers in working order during the next two weeks. The foundations for the new pumping engines is making rapid progress. About twenty feet of the stone foundation has been laid, and it is tbs intention, if possible, to complete the stone work in a week. The most of the parts for the pumps have arrived,and as soon as the foundations are in readiness to receive them they will be erected.
A large pump with a capacity for pumping 100 gallons of water per minute has arrived from Bradford, Pa., for use at the Wells & Richardson Company’s artesian well, Burlington. Vt.
