—The report of City Engineer J. A. Jowett of Nashville, Tenn., shows material used on the streets during the year as follows: Granite paving, 8052 square yards; grading, 74,587.4 cubic yards; macadam, 1,148,556 bushels; bituminous brick paving, 700 square yards; sand and gravel, 81,322.8 bushels; curbing, 14,205.9 lineal feet; guttering, 5,556.2 square yards; brick sidewalk, 17,574.2 square yards; crossings, 3,401.2 lineal feet; box culvert, 1,843.6 lineal feet. The total cost of all this work was $127,975.23.
—Imlay City, Mich., papulation 1800, was incorporated n 1872. Its officers are : Mayor, N. Harkin ; city clerk, John Robinson ; treasurer, Robert Walker; chairman of finance committee, E. E. Palmer; chief of police, Hiram Belou ; chief of fire department, T. B. Kegwirth ; health officer, Dr. V. Yercx. The city has no sewerage, paving or water-works, nor has any move been made towards improvements. The streets are lighted with twenty-five gasoline lights. There is no debt. The yearly expenditures arc $1500 against $2000 receipts.
