PA Health Firm Offers Free Hepatitis C Screenings for Firefighters and EMS Personnel

Bryn Mawr, PA, October 24, 2001-Main Line Health, participating with the Institute for Healthy Communities, will provide free hepatitis C screenings for firefighters and EMS personnel from now until January 2002.

To be eligible for the screenings, interested parties must be 45 years of age or older and from fire or EMS organizations in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties or the City of Philadelphia. They may be currently employed or retired; Pennsylvania residency is not required.

The screenings will be available at Bryn Mawr, Lankenau, and Paoli hospitals. Those interested should contact the volunteer offices at any of the three hospitals between 900 and 1600 hours at 610-645-2138 for Lankenau Hospital, 610-526-3058 for Bryn Mawr Hospital, and 610-648-1099 for Paoli Memorial Hospital.
