OKLAHOMA STATE FIREMEN TO HOLD CONVENTION IN TULSA

Program of the Twenty-eighth Annual Meeting of the Association to Take Place on September 12 to 14

THE twenty eighth annual convention of the Oklahoma State Firemen’s Association is to meet in Tulsa on September 12 to 14, the headquarters being at the Kaufman Hotel, 115 South Boston Street, and the business scssions in the city auditorium at Fourth and Cincinnati Streets. The Oklahoma association has grown until it now includes upon its roll 106 fire departments with an individual membership of about 5,000. Besides this it has as members various insurance associations, Underwriters organizations, and all state bureaus and departments connected with fire insurance or fire departments in any manner. The governor of the state is an active member. There are about 100 associate members, nearly all of whom are represented at its convention. There are also many honorary members among city, county and state officials, members of the legislature, and numerous ex-state and city officials. According to an estimate by Secretary Charles Slemp, the attendance at the convention will run over 300 to 500 members. The association has been responsible for the enaction of a mandatory two-platoon law and one of the best pension laws in the United States.
