Oklahoma City Short of Water.
Because of a threatened water famine, Oklahoma City authorities have ordered the discontinuance of sprinkling with city water. Watchers have been placed about the city to turn off the water where the order is violated. Unless rain comes soon, the water supply will be almost entirely cut off. The North Canadian river is nearly dry. The pressure in the city mains has been reduced from 05 to 50 pounds, and Water Superintendent Bennett states that a big lire of three hours’ duration would take practically all of the water now on hand.
