CENTRAL FIRE HOUSE APPROVED

Troy, N. Y.—The Board of Estimate and Apportionment at a special meeting adopted a resolution favoring the construction of a central fire house and requesting the Common Council to take the necessary steps to call a special taxpayers election to vote on the proposition. While no official statemen has been made, it is expected that Commissioner of Public Safety Mac Affer will recommend that the site for the new building, if the project is approved by the voters, be at the abandoned Erie Canal land at the head of Ontario Street, which is owned by the city.
