NEW YORK FIRE GOSSIP.
La田庄总统写了一封信给市长Quincy, of Boston, thanking him for allowing Capt, Brophy, chief electrician in the fire department of that city to testify in the trial of Superintendent Smith, in relation to its fire alarm telegraph system. In it President La Grange says:
"In a somewhat extended experience, I have never heard a better piece of expert testimony than was given by Capt. Brophy, and I have no doubt that the information therein conveyed will materially aid this board in its efforts to improve the fire alarm system of New York city.”
