At a special meeting of the board of directors of the Underwriters’ Laboratories, which was held on November 10, Dana Pierce was elected president to fill the vacancy caused by the death of William Henry Merrill who passed away on September 17. A. R. Small was elected first vice-president. D. B. Anderson, the present incumbent, was re-elected secretary and L. B. Headen was also continued as treasurer of the laboratories.
