New Fire Station at Sioux Falls

A new fire station has been opened in Sioux Falls, S. D., which gives additional protection to the east side of that city. It is provided with a triple combination motor fire truck and a city service truck, manned by a captain, a lieutenant and five privates. The new station —the first outside the central station in Sioux Falls, is a handsome two-story brick structure. On the lower floor and in front is the fire equipment, with a cement approach leading up from the street. In the rear is the library and upstairs are the firemen’s quarters, finished in oak and white. In front are the sleeping quarters, in the middle the parlor, at the rear the captain’s office, a reception room and a complete bath apparatus. The building cost some $28,000 in all, and was put up by money already raised by taxation, without any bonds.
