Meeting and Dinner of the Water Purification Division A. W. W. A.

The Chemical and Bacteriological Division held two sessions and one committee meeting during the convention. The committee meeting was on Tuesday afternoon on the subject of the "Standard Methods of Water Analysis." Jack Hinman, Jr., Chairman. At the first regular session of the Division, which took place at 9 a. m. April 29 in the Grill Room the following papers were read and discussed: 1. Chlorinated Water in the Baking Industry, C. B. Morrison, American Institue of Baking. Chicago, Ill. 2. Treated Waters in the Canning Industry. A. E. Stevension. Research Laboratories. National Canners' Association. Washington, D. C. 3. Chlorphenol Tastes in Milwaukee, R. W. Cunliffe. City Chemist.

At the second session on Wednesday afternoon the subject discussed was “Method of Determining Small Amounts of Copper Following Treatment by Copper Sulphite" by Dr. F. E. Hale. There was considerable discussion on this and other subjects.
