MASSACHUSETTS STATE FIREMEN’S ASSOCIATION.

Secretary D. Arthur Burt, of the Massachusetts State Firemen’s association, writes that the committee on exhibits at the forthcoming twentieth convention of the Massachusetts State Firemen’s Association, to be held at Newburyport on September 6, 7, 8, will afford exhibitors every facility for the exhibition and practical demonstration of the merits of their goods. If they so desire, there will be given them an opportunity to present to the assembled delegates the particular features of their exhibits. Mr. Burt requests all who intend to exhibit to notify him. with details of spuce required, etc., prior to September 2. Letters should be addressed to his office at Taunton, Mass. The following form the committee on exhibits: Frank E. Davis, engineer, chairman; Charles W. Adams, engineer; Albert F. Young, treasurer, enginecompany No. 1; George A. Coffin, captain, hose company No. 7; Frank W. Landford, engineer, all of Newburyport, Muss.

Fire burned to the ground the planing mill of the J. J. Kennedy Lumber company at Rib Lake, Wis. Over 2,000,000 feet of lumber was destroyed, Loss, $12,000.
