At a recent meeting of the Mascoma River Improvement Association at Lebanon, N. H., a complete report was made of the work of development of the so-called Mascoma River system, done by the manufacturers of that section. Figures show that water storage of 1,258,000,000 cubic feet has been effected, which not only greatly increases the water supply of Lebanon but provides water power for the many large industries near or in that town. Notwithstanding the high cost of labor, materials and freight, the manufacturing interests will gain a substantial reduction in cost of operation, as by pooling their issues, an immense saving in coal is effected.
