Steve Kraft, chief of the Richmond Hill Fire & Emergency Services in Ontario, Canada, will urge audience members to “Be a Leader, Not Just a Position” in his keynote address at the Opening Ceremonies on Wednesday, April 18, 8:00 a.m.-10 a.m.
Kraft will challenge fire service leaders to self-reflect as they listen to his words and explore questions such as the following: What canIchange? How canIbecome a better leader? What canIdo to make my department better?
“Making a few small changes within can make a huge difference to the culture and attitude of the fire department,” Kraft says. To help leaders achieve this, Kraft will offer five “very important points” for becoming a great leader.
Kraft has been with the Richmond Hill Fire & Emergency Services for 24 years, is a seconded and associate instructor at the Ontario Fire College, and has lectured at many Ontario fire departments.
