June Fire Loss in Canada Less
During June of this year the loss by fire in Canada (exclusive of the losses by forest fires in northern Ontario and New Brunswick) amounted to $3,069,446, as against $4;229,412 in the same month last year. The losses at 39 fires exceeded $10,000; at eight, $100,000 and more, the larger list being headed by a $500,000 lumber mill fire in Prince Albert, Sask. Eighteen lives were lost. It is estimated that the total fire loss for the first half of 1913 amounted to $14,325,463, Ontario leading the Provinces with $3,620,260.
