It Was a Great Convention.
Secretary John S. Jones of the State Firemen’s Association of Connecticut writes as follows of the recent convention of that organization: The eleventh annual convention of the State Association, was held in Derby, on August 1st and 2d. Firemen owned the city in every sense of the word. The members have been feasted and entertained and made much of, but none exceeded the heartiness of the welcome of Derby. Hospitality was in the air and the words * Welcome, Firemen,' greeted them from every door."
At 2 o'clock the delegates assembled at the Sterling Opera House where the convention was held. The stage was decorated with flags and bunting.
