Is Sugar Dangerous?
The following letter suggests that sugar is a most dangerous thing to have in the house. It appeared in the N. Y. Tribune, and is worthy of reproduction in our columns. If sugar, flour and starch are highly inflammable, as has recently been shown, the question is, What shall we trust ? We know that stoves, ranges, heaters, servant girls and housekeepers are explosive, and if science continues its investigations, we shall lose faith in all articles of domestic use or ornament. But here is the letter referred to;
