Investigate Wisconsin Water Supplies

The Wisconsin State Sanitary engineer, E. J. Tully, has been conducting investigations to bring about purer water supplies in different sections of the state. His report for the first quarter of the year covers surveys made at Oshkosh where additional chemical treatment was advised; at Stevens Point, investigations as to effects of industrial wastes discharged into the river upon the quality of water resulted in recommendations being made for purifying the river water by a system of sand filtration and the use of aluminum sulphate. Well water pollutions were found at Baldwin and Phillips As a result of these special inquiries, pure water supplies have been guaranteed to the communities visited.
